FR Review:
Kaleidakolor owner Margaret Neiman Harber is a dependable, versatile and well-connected calligrapher. A former president of the Society of Scribes, Harber now oversees a small group of calligraphers and can tackle just about any sized task. Kaleidakolor does substantial corporate work for companies like Ferragamo and Cartier, along with a large number of weddings, but she and her crew are happy to take on small jobs too, even if just a dozen place cards. Kaleidakolor is also known for meeting last-minute needs (they once addressed 1,000 envelopes for a corporate event in 24 hours), making it a great place to call in a pinch.
Harber began studying calligraphy in 1982 while working as an accountant, eventually founding Kaleidakolor in 1991. She finds calligraphy "therapeutic" and has been known to "burn the midnight oil" to get a job done. Clients appreciate her "friendly, can-do attitude" and that she's available to be on site for last minute changes. Kaleidakolor offers traditional and modern calligraphy styles as well as increasingly popular "pen cursive," and all work is done on Crane stationery. Prices are recommended as "fair": envelopes start at $4.00 ($2.50 for pen cursive), with wedding invitations starting at $350. Kaleidakolor's all-around versatility and warm service make it a natural choice for most occasions.
