FR Review:
Principal Ken Ellert is a longtime HVAC veteran who has seen and solved every cooling problem under the hot summer sun. He and his 12-person staff bring a formidable amount of experience to Manhattan’s finer brownstones, pre-wars and lofts. The firm’s specialty is working closely with both contractors and homeowners to create a functional, long-lasting system that blends into the background, unnoticed (except for a cool breeze).
Comfort Tech works on all makes and models, from ductless climate control systems to pool dehumidification systems. We’re told the company’s “remarkable” employees strive to preserve architectural integrity. Comfort Tech also offers a wide option of preventive maintenance programs, each tailored to meet a client’s specific needs. Though the company sometimes has trouble meeting demand during the summer rush, they field an emergency truck and give priority service to those with contracts. Ellert and Co. are also careful to triage their calls carefully to make sure the appropriate team is sent to each job. That means that the firm typically sends two technicians rather than one, a strategy that is effective, if not cheap. Given the firm’s overall mid-range costs and superior quality, clients stand by Comfort Tech Mechanical.
Representative Client Comments:
"I appreciated the prompt personal attention." "Follow up service was truly above and beyond. Somehow finding that replacement motor that normally has a four-week lead-time is something that the clients will very much appreciate when they return to a cool house after the Summer away." “Always a pleasure to work with them—the employees and installers are professional, courteous, reliable and punctual.” “I can always reach Ken when I have questions or concerns.” "I'm very pleased with your efforts to get our system functioning optimally." “Honest and capable.” “The project went well, I have an old home which makes installation difficult, however these units were installed with no damage or openings to my walls.” “I had a mixed experience with service—was hard to get someone to show up at my door.” “Works well with architect to address field conditions.” “Unable to find a whistling noise in my system.” “Ken has worked for us for fourteen years.” “Nice to do business with, very capable firm and very reasonable people.”
