FR Review:
This firm has been providing independent appraisal services–primarily for insurance and estate purposes–to New York City’s elite since 1980. The company’s areas of expertise include everything of value found in the home, ranging from paintings, sculpture and silver to decorative art, furniture and porcelain. With a staff of ten, the firm is capable of handling most pieces, however, if something comes up that requires a specialist (a rare fur, say), NYFAA has a trusted network of outside appraisers to call upon. Clients include private collectors, insurance companies, attorneys, movers and estate planners. In addition to their New York office, NYFAA has both an LA and a Palm Beach location, broadening their reach and deepening their pool of experience.
Principal Jason Rahm, an accredited senior member of the American Society of Appraisers and the Appraisers Association of America, will often personally visit a client’s home or office to photograph and examine each article to be appraised. Within a matter of weeks, a report, including digital images, is personally presented to the client. NYFAA is strictly an independent appraisal company, however they are able to guide clients who wish to buy or sell. Rates are always charged by time, never in relation to value. The firm is roundly praised from for its level of experience, its fair rates, and the personal attention it gives to clients.
Representative Client Comments:
“We have enjoyed a long-term relationship with this firm—they provide excellent service.” “A well-known and well-regarded firm.” “A fun and interesting experience.” “Jason is very helpful, even at the preliminary stages he was able to guide us down the right path.”
