Company Philosophy
The goal of my work is to enhance the Designer's concept of a room while integrating color and style and above all quality. The artwork should merely be a detail of the room.
 
Areas of Expertise / Recent Projects
Having recently completed several projects in for McMillen Inc., James Alan Smith keeps very busy with other design firms, including Crain & Ventolo Assocs. Inc and Charlotte Moss Interior Design. Most recently, James Alan painted a series of panels for the Presidential Suite in the St. Regis Hotel for designer Richard Mishaan depicting New York City circa 1900. Other projects this past year included painted faux parquet floors in Oxford Maryland, glazing and decorative painting in Vail Colorado, and a painted cloud ceiling with treage and trompe l’oeil in Hobe Sound Florida. In addition to his residential work, James completed two ceiling for Memorial Sloan Ketterings treament rooms in New York City. His work is also featured in Charlotte Moss’ new bestselling book, A Flair for Living. Although his work takes him all over the country, James still maintains his home and studio in Southampton, Long Island.
