Michael Savoia of Villa Savoia, Inc. is a craftsman working in the applied arts of embroidery, hand-beading and creative stitching. His customized embellishments on fine fabrics and leather add a depth and personal statement of beauty and style. Michael has a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Weaving and Textile Design and has been working with the design community for over 25 years.

Recent projects include embroidering over 800 linear feet of a complex multi-technique border for 12’ tall curtains for the home of art collectors: the pattern being an interpretation of one of the many antique documents in the Villa Savoia Collection. Utilizing antique Greek embroidery on another project presented the challenge of mixing old and creating new panels compatible in style, color and image. Embroidery techniques include hand embroidery, hand-guided work on antique machines as well as computer guided production.
