FR Review:
Patrick Carmody's classical approach to architecture extends beyond style to execution. He tends to work in a traditional vein with a light touch. Clients say Carmody has particular gifts with space design and the relationship of functional elements. In his methodical management of details and patient attention to client preferences throughout many rounds of revisions, this young architect has come to produce what one contractor calls "the best work by a sole practitioner I have ever seen."
A Louisiana native, Carmody studied architecture at Rice University and then worked at Saunders and Walsh. Founded in 1999, the firm's focus is on high-end residential projects in New York City, many of them 3,000-to 4,000-square-foot gut renovations on Park and Fifth avenues. Projects outside Manhattan have included a shingle-style house in Westchester and a clean-lined Art Deco-style home in Miami's South Beach.
Carmody is described as highly professional, efficient and a perfectionist by both clients and contractors. He is known to always have the client's best interests at heart. In turn, sources find this Shreveport native a "lovely man" and tell us he is strong on managing the small and large details of the project, which makes clients feel that nothing is getting lost between the cracks. Carmody's work is described as "top-notch" and well worth the comparatively modest fee based upon cost of construction.
