Services & Specialties
ull service custom design/build: interior design, contracting, kitchen & bathroom and millwork & cabinetry

FR Review:
“Focused, methodical and polished” are just a few of the adjectives used to describe the calculated approach that Paula McDonald Design Build takes with every project. This full-service, design, build contracting firm, with a penchant for kitchens, bathrooms and millwork, only takes on two or three mid-sized projects at a time, offering the kind of consistency in quality and attention to detail that allows homeowners to rest easy. Seen on site daily, managing director Paula McDonald takes a “no frills” approach, from initial design through final walk-through, which keeps subcontractors on time, on budget and on their toes.

McDonald, a twenty year industry veteran, NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Asso- ciation) member and an affiliate New York AIA member, worked her way through the ranks before hanging out her own shingle. Her boutique-style firm’s “competent, creative and congenial” staff are sticklers for the details, which keeps clients coming back and referral jobs on the docket. This “fairly priced” firm averages anywhere between $250,000 to well beyond $500,000 per project. Being as involved as it is in the home already, Paula McDonald Design Build’s services extend to interior design, making it an all-inclusive shop.

Representative Client Comments:
“The entire time, Paula was very in control of the project, which gave me confidence in its quality and completeness. Everything was on time, on budget, the crew was respectful, and most importantly the workmanship was top quality. What really impressed me was the follow up once the project was complete. Anything we needed, Paula took care of.” “This is critical and what sets Paula apart: She has the business savvy to handle co-op and condo managers, unlike most contractors. Everything was approved right away for me, while my neighbors are still waiting a year later!” “It’s hard to find good people in this industry and I’ve heard all the horror stories. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with Paula and consider myself lucky that I have one of the few good stories to tell.” “Quick on her toes with a creative solution, especially while everyone else stands around trying to figure out what to do; she really takes the lead.” “She has a very intuitive approach, a creative way of interpreting things, and an impeccable sense of style and design... which is rare in this kind of industry.” “What separates Paula is her attention to detail and her intuition as she listens to your ideas—she is able to pinpoint exactly what you like before you even realize it yourself.” “Paula is passionate about her work and truly cares, and it comes through in the workmanship.”
