FR Review:
La Marqueza is a relaxed UES salon and spa that delivers quality services at surprisingly low prices. Services include the more mundane (cut and dry or manicure) and the more specialized (Brazilian Keratin treatments, eyelash tinting and deep-cleansing European facials). The cuts and blow outs are especially recommended, and we hear that Carmen is the stylist to ask for. The "Carmen is in" sign prominently displayed in the shop's front window would seem to support this.
A cut with Carmen starts at $50, and a wash and blow out at just $25. The spa services are also said to be a good value, including manicures starting at $15, leg waxing at $30 and a one-hour Swedish massage at $85. The small shop is tidily kept and has a fun aesthetic. The walls are bedecked in silver and white, sleek white stylists' chairs face large white mirrors and mini chandeliers provide added light. All in all, a great place to pop into for a quick polishing when you have neither the time, money nor inclination to go to a luxury salon or spa.
Representative Client Comments:
"A great place for quick and cheap wash and blow out." "Tucked away on Lex and 81st." "Lower end but nice." "I always ask for Carmen for my cut and color."
