FR Review:
A good (handy)man is hard to fi nd, so the saying goes. At NYcitySTUFF, the handymen are all vetted, ensuring that the one who shows up at your door to install an AC or mount a TV actually knows what he’s doing. And skills extend far beyond just the basic–these handymen also paint, do electrical work, re-tile bathrooms and build custom furniture. Projects are doled out to the worker deemed the best fit for the task at hand, but repeat clients are encouraged to use a favored handyman on an ongoing basis. The result: Customers feel like they have their own personal handyman, but with the added security of a higher authority to complain to if the work falls short of expectations.
NYcitySTUFF has been providing handymen services to all fi ve boroughs since 2007. Current owner Paul Kennedy manages a crew of about thirteen handymen, whose add-on specialties range from mural painting to furniture restoration. The hourly rates start at $85, which clients recommend as a “good value” considering the “expediency and professionalism” of the handymen. Larger projects are typically quoted.
Representative Client Comments:
“You call them and they set you up with your own personal handyman.” “I’ve used them for a bunch of things–lamp rewiring, curtain hanging, etc.” “I recently moved into a new apartment and couldn’t seem to get around to hanging pictures, curtains, etc. One Saturday morning and a handyman later, my place is in running order.”
