FR Review:
Cesar's Shoe Repair is known for its high-caliber craftsmanship and its correspondingly high prices. Shoes, boots, belts and bags are repaired and restored at this Chelsea shop, and picked up or delivered free of charge to those living below 34th Street. The small shop is pristine but by no means glamorous, making one question their "celebrities' shoe repair shop" tagline. Nevertheless, Cesar's has a strong following among stylish New Yorkers who pay dearly for their footwear and its upkeep.

Cesar's hails back to the 1970's and is currently run by founder Cesar Andrade's grandson, Edward. Edward and the rest of the staff are extraordinarily helpful and happy to discuss services and options, but don't expect pricing leeway--prices here are considered "expensive" and trend even higher for "complicated pieces or designer items." Boot heel replacement starts at $30, with basic reheeling and resoling of a men's dress shoe starting at $55. Boot stretching, which we hear is one their specialties, starts at $75.

Representative Client Comments:
"Fantastic work." "They'll pick up your items, do fantastic bag and shoe repair, and then deliver everything back to you." "It's annoying that it's cash only--hopefully this changes." "I know I could get less expensive work done elsewhere, but they do excellent work." "Great with boots, whether repair or stretching."
