Services & Specialties
Client-focused, large scale high-end residential renovations

FR Review:
"The highest level of integrity,” is what we hear about VGC. Started in 1987 by Edward Varricchio, the firm has established itself as a group with “highly skilled and experienced craftsmen who are thoroughly familiar with the difficul- ties that can arise in working in New York residential buildings.” Varricchio, an electrician by trade, always had a knack for building things, and brings decades of hands-on knowledge to his operation, which focuses on high-end, complete gut renovations, so smaller and single-room projects need not apply. This firm has a particular proclivity for “ornate, custom jobs with that personal touch.” Varricchio maintains the carpentry, wood flooring, finished carpentry, tile work and cabinet installation in-house, but calls on a trusted stable of subcontractors for the rest.

VGC does six to ten jobs a year, starting at $750,000 to $1 million and reaching upwards of $3.5 million. Fees are on the high end, but clients adamantly profess the value you get with every dollar. Maintaining a superior level of coordination and on-site cleanliness brings VCG repeat business. In fact, VGC has done up to six projects for a single family.

Representative Client Comments:
“Ed and the workers have been very professional, reliable and informative.” “The quality of their work is beyond even our highest expectations.” “Ed honored his time commitments and his workers have been consistent and on time. His budget estimates were great.” “All in all, Ed’s quality is amazing, as is his integrity. We have worked with other contractors who make big promises but don’t deliver. Ed delivered everything he promised, on time, on expectation and on budget. We would work with him again and highly recommend him to anyone who asks.” “I would like to especially thank Ed for nishing on time–it was very important to us to complete the kitchen before the start of the school year. I would also like to thank him for the special care he took to every detail, and for his creativity and extremely good taste! The extra millwork and extra flourishes on the granite work very well together. His staff did a great job at clean up.”

Project Description & Comments:
Eddie and his entire team worked superbly with our family, architect and decorator to complete a major renovation in our pre-war coop on time and on budget. The VGC people were agreeable, respectful and creative. While their price was about 7% above the low bid, we are convinced that, ultimately, we saved money with their various value added ideas - and have a beautiful home.
