Anna Pinto is known for her italic and casual scripts and does a great deal of work for cultural, educational and corporate organizations. Ever versatile, she can create classically ornate certificates for New York University right alongside 200 casually penned Post-It Notes for a photo shoot. Pinto also gravitates toward illustration and can frame your words with wispy flowers, stars, symbols, etc. Clients say they "cannot speak highly enough" about Pinto and her product, and she is known to take on a variety of random jobs at short notice, schedule permitting. Pinto is ideal for those seeking a casual style, illustrative addenda, or those with offbeat jobs, such as creating a map for a Smurfs movie.
Pinto has been a calligrapher since 1984 and practices out of her Hoboken studio (though her clientele is largely Manhattan based). With a painter father and an illustrator mother, it comes as little surprise that Pinto likes incorporating imagery into her work. Pinto also teaches calligraphy at the Long Island University in Brooklyn and at the Society of Scribes. Her prices aren't necessarily less expensive for being located "across the river," but remain in line with other well-established calligraphers in the area. Formally addressed envelopes start at $1.50 per line and invitation design starts at $350.
