FR Review:
Whether you're interested in Farsi, Finnish or French, Rennert comes highly recommended for language instruction at both the beginner and advanced levels. Students praise Rennert for hiring instructors of "the highest caliber" who are flexible in adapting to the students' individual needs. The most popular languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin, etc) are offered regularly in group classes limited to 8 students; more specialized languages (Armenian, Creole, Punjabi, etc) are offered sporadically at the private and semi-private level. Working professionals with limited downtime appreciate the 2-hour long weekly and "highly conversational" classes, but students in need of serious grammar drilling may need to "supplement their coursework."

Rennert was founded in 1973 by Cesar Rennert, who saw a need for language programs that focused on conversational teaching methods. What started as one language (Spanish) and one teacher (himself) has since burgeoned into a full-fledged language company that also offers translation and interpretation services, with additional locations in Miami and Istanbul. Despite its size, students say Rennert maintains a "nurturing environment" and that the administrative staff is "beyond helpful." At $400 for a ten-week course, Rennert is also said to be "one of the best deals around."

Representative Client Comments:

"Some places are only strong for beginners' classes--Rennert is great for advanced classes too." "I have never had a mediocre teacher at Rennert and I've been taking classes there for two years." "The focus is on engaging students in conversation--not grammar or book drills." "Beautiful, spotless classrooms." "Probably some of the best prices around." "Their website isn't easy to navigate, but the flip side is that their staff is great and you can call to inquire about anything."
