FR Review:
What’s more luxurious than a yacht? Perhaps a bathtub that’s made like one. Experts in woodworking and processing, Alegna built yachts, until in 2006 they partnered with IDconnect to develop and design a line of luxury wooden tubs. The Laguna Series is made by hand in Switzerland – where Alegna is based – so every bathtub is unique and personalized. The company can also supply the tubs with whirlpool systems. The classically designed Laguna Series is available in all types of wood, including walnut, wenge, mahogany, oak and iroko. Alenga will also acquire very exotic wood at the request of the client. The firm produces these products by compressing carefully selected wood veneers under high pressure and then completely saturating them with resin. Alegna accepts orders by email or fax and ships to every country in the world. (They even delivered on to New Zealand.) The company will also install their products, but only in Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria and Italy. The lead-time for production is about eight weeks and orders can be placed by email or fax. Prices are quite high and start around eleven thousand dollars. For a tub that is a work of art, many feel the Leguna Series is worth it. If you’re not convinced you want to jump into a purchase, Alegna’s wooden bathtubs can be found in several high-end day spas around Europe, including one at the Hotel Limmathof Baden.
