First-class total home integration - A/V design and installation
|

FR Review:
Aiming to be a “concierge of total home control,” Crescendo is a high-end A/V engineering firm with an eye for design. While its services “aren’t the cheapest,” clients choose Crescendo for its “taste, competence and presentation” when offered the initial bid. Whether a project calls for a classic home theater, full security, shades and lighting, outdoor entertainment or a fusion of them all, Crescendo is recommended by leading names in contracting and architecture. These pros appreciate the fact that Crescendo employs the type of specialists who know to take off their shoes before entering the multi-million dollar homes they wire. What clients themselves appreciate most about the firm is its sales support, available 24/7 and “always answering on the first call.”
Owner Chris Brody first founded an online retail business selling audio equipment specifically for cars, which segued into home audio and the eventual inclusion of some design and installation services. The business was based in Southampton, a location with the affluence to bring in new, flashy pieces few had access to; Chris was selling plasma TVs in the mid-90s before most consumers knew what they were. Developing a reputation among the elite clientele of the Hamptons and Manhattan, Brody and his brother, Mike, founded Crescendo in 2002. It now staffs 23 experts in design, architecture, construction and electrical work. To provide clients with the ultimate visual of what they can expect, Crescendo opened a 2,500 square-foot Experience Center showroom, even retailing several high-end furniture brands to complete its look.
The scope of Crescendo’s projects–in both size and price–is not exactly humble, but clients come back because they know the firm “won’t cut corners and won’t nickel and dime” them. Crescendo has a concrete pricing system where each piece of equipment–sold at retail–has pre-determined required hours of labor. Clients looking for a simple installation are asked to pay the bulk of the bill upfront. When a project entails new construction or total redesign, clients will pay a small security deposit with progressive payments through completion. Crescendo promises a year service plan on all workmanship, “holding the client’s hand” well beyond the end of projects. Crescendo stands by its ability to make it “look right and sound right from the start,” and attentively maintains this synergy.
Representative Client Comments:
“I’m not tech-savvy, but they break down the process so it’s in your language.” “You get what you pay for, and that’s the best.” “Some of these systems are confusing and foreign to regular home owners. Their sales support made something that is very complicated very easy.” “They are more than A/V guys, they’re decorators. I give them my highest rating.”
