FR Review:
Lyric is in a class of its own. In this land, everything sounds better–your speakers sound great and your network always has five bars. Launched in 1959, Lyric is still doing what it did from the beginning–identifying sonic trends early and staying on the cutting edge.

The firm has both a significant retail floor of 3,600 square feet and a strong custom installation shop. If you go to the retail space, be sure to ask to view the specialty rooms hidden in the back where qualified customers can view the big-time action. While Lyric was once flown to Mumbai to wire a 36-room residence with three heliports, most of the work is maximizing the technology on the Upper East Side within reason.

A staff of two dozen includes project managers who often coordinate between customers and their designers or architects. One of Lyric’s specialties is the Sonos system of affordable whole-home audio equipment. The firm was an early adopter of Sonos, and it earns high marks for quality in even the most challenging environments (Manhattan’s wifi jungle sometimes wreaks havoc on wireless systems). Furthermore, a wide variety of projects are implemented: from entry-level component music and A/V systems to cinema and home automation systems in the six-figure bracket. Hourly man-hour prices are at the lower end of the range for the industry and a one-year warranty on parts and labor is included, making Lyric a good value with top-notch quality.

Representative Client Comments:
“The grandaddy of high-end audio/video stores.” “They have a reputation for only serving the high-end audiophile, but that is not the case. They also are very accommodating for strong mid-tier systems. Of course they also are delighted to educate you on the best.” “Staff is extremely well-trained and experienced, with project managers having many years in the field.” “Responded immediately whenever the renovation contractor was ready for his work or had a question.” “They were accommodating when I asked to use my old equipment to keep cost down.” “Work was well thought out and included extra capacity wiring to allow for future capabilities.” “Hard working, honest guys.”
