 In a field where many firms split their time between residential and commercial work, Hamilton stands out as a company focused on working with homeowners. We hear Hamilton has the resources and know-how to pull off complex installations others won’t touch, taking on everything from ducted central systems to ductless split systems to through-the-wall and window units. Residential clients say Hamilton delivers the goods quickly and effectively.

Hamilton boasts an engineering department that oversees the design, application and installation of central AC systems. Its service arm handles equipment repairs, warranty work and maintenance for over 10,000 Manhattanites (which we hear can occasionally lead to slower response times). Both departments are backed by a factory in New Jersey that handles warranty work, service, cleaning and overhauling of equipment and manufacture of custom sheet metal. Hamilton’s office staff will even assist with landmark applications and pre-war buildings. Veteran clients recommend getting your system checked during the winter to avoid the summer rush.

They came recommended by an architect friend, showed up for the first appointment, seemed fine, provided a proposal that seemed reasonable. But then couldn't get them to actually do the job: when called and emailed repeatedly to return for a confirmation visit and updated proposal, they were rude, evasive, non-responsive. After 2 weeks of trying they said they couldn't send someone for another 2 weeks. They seem uninterested in residential work; perhaps they bother to return phone calls for large commercial clients, but if you're an individual homeowner, I'd go elsewhere.

I waited from 1 pm to 4 pm. Never showed up, and they never called, and when I called to complain, the woman in service dept. never apologized. She was very cold. I have used Hamilton Air in the past, but won't in the future. I have never been given good service, so they won't be returning to my home. Treat your customers better, Hamilton Air!

I waited yesterday, Wednesday, from 1 pm to 4 pm, and no one showed up to service my air-conditioner. I called several time and was told the service person was on his way. I was upset about waiting so long, and at 4 pm I called Hamilton Air, and the lady who answered the phone in the service dept. was not sympathetic or apologetic, at all. She was cold, and just asked me to reschedule, which I did not. Today, Thursday, I got a call at 1 pm that the service person was on his way....a day late!!!!! Needless to say, I won't be doing business with Hamilton Air again. (By the way, I have never had good customer service with them, even though I used them several times.)
