Originally formed by two computer experts in 1993, Progressive Computing serves mostly businesses in Manhattan and Westchester. Its number one service is network installation and support, including all necessary hardware, and it is a Microsoft Certified Partner. Most of the firm’s clients run mid-sized networks—between 10 and 40 machines—but they also work with larger companies. Progressive’s seven technicians offer 24-hour service in emergency situations, although in general two-day advance notice is preferred. Most clients are enrolled in monthly flat-rate plans, which includes all day-to-day technical support needs, however hourly rates are also available.
Customers laud Progressive for its top-notch service and professional one-on-one instruction. Diagnostic services also receive high praise. Clients note that Progressive’s consultants are good at identifying issues early on to avoid costly manufacturers’ service visits—and won’t try to sell you something new if you don’t need it.
