FR Review:
Garnering kudos as a "great communicator," this firm is known to produce perhaps the most comprehensive shop drawings in Manhattan, Connecticut, and Westechester. The result, say contractors and architects, is a refined finished product. Crane Woodworking fabricates and installs high-end architectural millwork, from a wet bar to a pool house, working with exotic woods and seamlessly integrating sound systems and lighting.
Owner Doug Crane began as a hobbyist furnituremaker. He turned his talents to high-end architectural millwork in 1984 and now oversees a staff of 25 and a 15,000-square-foot state-of-the-art shop. We're told Crane works alongside his draftsmen to ensure the best blueprint for the job. Frequently called in for classical, traditional woodwork, typical projects run the gamut from $50,000 to $1,000,000. Crane continues to create furniture, inspired by Mission, Arts and Crafts and Prairie styles. Clients say the firm's stellar reputation makes the upper-end prices an "excellent value."
Representative Client Comments:
"Can change on the fly without tons of paperwork." "Knowledgeable installers. Helpful in resolving problems." "Every project completed has been done with the highest of quality standards. Entire staff is a pleasure to deal with. Only woodworker we would use." "Best shop drawings. Good service. Always a pleasure to do business with them." "Workmanship comparable to high-end German companies but less expensive."
