FR Review:
Jim Fraerman is hailed by clients as an extremely accommodating architect with a natural instinct for the "art of his craft." His firm boasts a devoted client base that repeatedly speaks of Fraerman's straightforward communication, personable manner and well-grounded advice regarding the projects he undertakes. They also say he is soft-spoken, and many refer to his penchant for discipline and precision. Fraerman is known as a collaborative firm that works well and coordinates easily with designers. Clients appreciate his flexibility and project management skills. The firm is not known for just one architectural style -- Fraerman is highly respected for its work in traditional and contemporary interiors and also noted for the ability to work within the context of an existing structure.
Fraerman holds both an undergraduate and M.A. in architecture from Yale. On his own since 1995, Fraerman previously served as senior vice president of Booth Hansen Architects (see review) and has more than 20 years experience in the industry. Fraerman himself works closely with clients. He and his three-person firm handle new home construction, additions and remodeling, primarily on the North Shore, where many clients admire the architect's incorporation of natural materials.
The firm charges an hourly rate, and its fees parallel those of other architects of similar reputation and quality. Clients tell us they wouldn't hesitate to call on Fraerman again or recommend it to others. They say the architectural team's work represents high value, both in relation to cost and to the peace of mind they enjoy for the duration of the project.
Representative Client Comments:

"He had the consideration to arrange to move the piano so my husband could play in the basement where we were living for four months while the rest of the house was being remodeled." "He's so good, I'm not sure our project was the best use of his ability." "He's an extremely disciplined and precise person." "He has the right combination of respect, aptitude and instinct." "If it took six different versions of a design, he gave me six different versions." "He didn't have an overabundance of ego."
