Bogdan "Bogie"Gwarnicki has been restoring fine furniture on his own for 12 years, as an additional business to his work at Caledonian (see review), a high-end antique and reproduction house. The son of a multi-talented teacher, bee keeper and cabinet-maker from Poland, Gwarnicki apprenticed in London and worked for various antique dealers there before coming to the United States in 1987.
Clients speak warmly of Gwarnicki, praising his refinishing talents and his eagerness to take on challenging projects. He specializes in English and French antique furniture restoration, but will also refinish less-valuable items, such as turn-of-the-century reproductions, for example, and give them a "proper antique look."His repertoire of skills encompasses antique restoration and conservation, French polishing and lacquer refinishing along with handcrafted and custom-made furniture.
