FR Review:
Bruno is Joseph Bruno, and his business card reads: "Unique ideas in furniture finishing."From what clients tell us, it's a fitting description. Bruno learned his craft from his grandfather in Calabria, Italy, and carried his talent for fine finishing to the United States almost 20 years ago. In 1989 he started his current business, which he runs with his two daughters and a team of six talented craftsmen. While antique and distressed finishes comprise the bulk of the firm's work, we are told it also excels at the demanding art of French polishing.
Both professional and private clients seek out Bruno's skills, which have been applied at some of Chicago's most famous residences. All work, with rare exception, is done in the Bruno shop. Although the firm does not pick up or deliver, it can arrange for these services. In order to provide a fair estimate, the company insists on assessing the condition of a piece, on site or from a photograph. Costs are based on time and materials.
Representative Client Comments:
"No one can touch this guy.""His ideas are unbelievable. Nobody can match his technique.""Can tackle any kind of finish that's required.""Bruno has an artistic eye—a rarity these days. He's a real master at what he does."
