FR Review:
Noted for her contemporary, neutral backgrounds leaning toward modernism, Carole Post has a high-end following. The interiors are warmed with fine artwork and antiques of diverse provenance, including Viennese successionalist furnishings and Asian accents. Post will often use her architectural interests to enhance the background elements, adding character and depth to the interiors.
After an architectural apprenticeship, Post received a degree from the Harrington Institute and trained with Shelly Handman. Post then established her firm in 1987. As a sole practitioner, she takes on about six active projects a year, and is said to work very closely with clients. She is known to confidently integrate her design and fine arts background with the interests and lifestyle of the client. Most projects tend to be downtown and in the near north suburbs, generally with "forward-trending"clients. Regardless of the size of a project, Post is said to have wonderful initiative and follow-through, both with clients and with other members of the project team.
Clients commend Post for establishing a budget before embarking upon a project, setting a realistic basis from which to work. Living rooms are generally in the $45,000 to $65,000 range, and supporters credit Post for offering a wide choice of products at various price points. The firm works on an hourly consultation basis with an upfront retainer and a standard product markup. Friends pass on Post's name with confidence and pride.
Representative Client Comments:
"She is very forthcoming with all things financial, something my husband particularly appreciated." "Carole is remarkably good at creating elevations and design drawings for millwork that works. We thought that we would have to hire an architect as well, but Carole did it all." "I felt so enriched by the experience—she opened my eyes to a more modern and serene palette." "By shopping well beyond the Mart and by creating a lot of our furniture, Carole created a unique and remarkable look for our family."
