FR Review:
Clients report that Richard-Marshall Fine Flooring's impeccable floors look as if they could have been "taken from old English country houses." But the firm's Old-World craftsmanship is supported by cutting-edge techniques. The company is justifiably proud of its patented Olde Boards line of hardwood, for which it developed a unique 31-step finish technique called Craftech. Handcrafted in Richard-Marshall's LA workshop, Olde Boards planks come with an adhesive that has a high moisture barrier. The wood itself has a furniture-style finish that customers love. The firm is also known for creating specialty planks with marble, tile or even semi-precious stones embedded in them. Richard-Marshall's by-appointment-only showroom contains over 500 original designs created with a computerized drawing system.
This 110-person firm was established in 1995. Licensed, bonded and insured, Richard-Marshall is a member of the NWFA and an associate member of ASID. While it has a mostly high-end residential clientele, the firm is frequently called upon by top architects, contractors, builders and designers to work on jobs in Beverly Hills, Santa Barbara, San Francisco and La Jolla. Out-of-California visits include Colorado, Arizona, Atlantic City, New York City, Las Vegas, Utah, Florida, Boston, as well as Europe and Saudi Arabia. Pricing is generally per job with no minimum.
Clients appreciate the minimal mess made during the installation process and the firm's incredible attention to detail, describing its workers as "hands-on craftsmen who will get down on their hands and knees to make sure every inch is perfect." Satisfied customers can't say enough about Richard-Marshall's courteous, responsive service. The floors' expensive look and exceptional durability make clients feel they get their money's worth.
Representative Client Comments:
"The floors look better as they grow older." "Each job is special. Not based on volume." "Passionate about their product." "They offer some features not available anywhere else." "Collaborative—worked with a pattern I liked and altered specs."
