Established in 1965 by Isac Novian, who learned the trade under the tutelage of his father, Amir, Melrose Carpet restores, repairs and installs area rugs and window treatments. It also installs wall-to-wall carpets, hardwood, cork, rubber, tile and vinyl floors. A family-owned and operated company, it is one of Los Angeles's biggest suppliers of sisal, seagrass, and natural wool rugs. Its showroom, which is open to the public, houses an impressive rug inventory.
With a full-time staff of 25, Melrose Carpet is licensed, bonded, insured and a member of The Chamber of Commerce and the World Floor Coverings Association. Dealing primarily with residential clients in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, West Hollywood, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Pasadena, Santa Barbara, and Montecito, the company works with designers, contractors and architects. Installation and retail are usually priced by the square yard or by the square foot. Restoration and repair are by the hour. Estimates are free, but there is a charge for pickup and delivery as well as for moving furniture. This full-service, good-value firm comes highly recommended by clients and is a requisite stop on any search for seagrass or sisal rugs.
