Move over, Edward Scissorhands: former hair dresser, Art Luna is now wowing Los Angeles with his top-notch garden designs. Interior designers and architects throughout Southern California praise Luna for transposing the design and structure of classic English and Italian gardens to a more desert-friendly California key. We're told Luna's favorite flourish is to "redecorate existing gardens" using containers and potted plants.
Luna's landscape design adventure began with the courtyards he created at his successful hair salon; his work so impressed his clients that they decided to put their own gardens in their stylist's capable hands. In a town where famous former hairdressers include a major movie producer, Luna's transition didn't raise many eyebrows.
We hear Luna employs the same two crews he used on his first job to implement his original outdoor living room and terrace designs. The firm charges an hourly consultation fee with a three-hour minimum, and a flat design fee with a standard percent product markup. References insist that Luna's garden designs are well worth it. His work has been published in House Beautiful and Elle Decor.
