FR Review:
Willy Godziemba-Maliszewski is a purveyor and restorer of "antiques of virtue." Handling antiques restoration and conservation, Godziemba-Maliszewski generally works on furniture from the 17th to early 19th century and prefers to work with clients "who know exactly what they have." This master cabinetmaker and ebiniste works closely with a number of A-list decorators but also takes inquiries from the public by appointment. His projects range from French polishing of a single dining room table to the restoration of an entire collection. But no matter what kind of project, we're told Godziemba-Maliszewski uses only the "least intrusive methods of restoration" and "respects the integrity of the antique and the intent of its original maker." He's also earned a reputation for making antique reproductions that could fool the most discriminating eyes.
Godziemba-Maliszewski started this company in 1981 and currently has a staff of two. He spent years training across Europe learning from the best ebinistes in England, Ireland, France and Italy. We're told the company "really takes their time" and you should allow them plenty of time to get the job done--and done to perfection. Godziemba-Maliszewski offers free in-home estimates but usually transports the piece to this Pound Ridge workshop. The firm is known to be on the upper-end of the pricing scale.
