Clients say Audiodesign's one- and two-year warranties are a huge reason for the firm's dedicated clientele and busy schedule. The firm has been in business since 1983 and was bought by current owner Ira Fagan in 1999, and serves all of Westchester and Fairfield counties as well as New York City and beyond. With a growing business designing dedicated media rooms, residential cinemas and multiroom A/V systems, Audiodesign handles upwards of 150 projects each year that range from small $5,000 retail jobs to massive $500,000 custom systems.
Nearly all of the firm's work is residential (with the occasional boardroom or restaurant project), with labor rates ranging from $75 to $130 per hour. Audiodesign has a staff of eleven, five of whom are installers. The company also installs telephone, lighting and climate-control systems--but not computer networking or wiring. Although the firm does sell products at retail, we're told it is highly service-oriented and really helps the end user feel comfortable with the system.
