This family-owned little gem has been in the business for more than 20 years, providing the “elite” of the Miami area with professional custom window treatments, blinds, bedding and “most anything fabric-related.” The Perfect Shade primarily services the trade but also runs a small retail business, maintaining a 2,000 square foot showroom in the heart of the Miami Design District. The firm also keeps a workroom and warehouse in North Miami that caters specifically to the trade.
Under the “experienced, detail-oriented” and watchful eye of Jasem Almania, who began learning the trade from his parents when he was six years old, The Perfect Shade's humble staff of ten, including designers, seamstresses and installers, fabricates what clients proclaim are “some of the finest window treatments and coverings in the area.” An average project runs between $10,000 and $15,000 with a turnaround time of about four weeks. Shades can cost anywhere from $150 to several thousand dollars. In addition to window treatments and the occasional upholstery work, The Perfect Shade also fabricates headboards, frames, padded walls, ceilings and slipcovers.
