Riverland Refinishing has been making a splash in South Florida for more than twenty years--and for forty years in New York City before that. Joseph Oxen runs this family-owned business and employs a staff that ranges from five to ten workers, depending on the amount of work. We’re told that customers benefit from the small size of the firm with friendly, personalized service.
Its 4,000 square-foot shop is split into two sections: one side for "dusty" stuff, such as stripping and sanding; the other, "clean" side for painting and spraying. This separation allows for a final product that our references call "immaculate." Riverland does faux finishes, high-gloss finishes, staining, and lacquer work. Clients extol the quality, all done by hand.
The company does service the general public as well decorators and shops. It has also handled restoration projects for the Bonnett House Museum. Local antique and upholstery stores know that Riverland Refinishing will do "whatever it takes" to restore wood, wicker, and bamboo furniture. Our sources say that Riverland never over-charges, and that its free estimates, pick-ups, and deliveries make it a great value.
