Company Philosophy
Vision, not money, distinguishes excellent collectors of emerging and contemporary art from mere art purchasers. With Boyd Level, new collectors learn how to cultivate and refine that vision while focusing on artworks priced below $20,000. Unlike galleries and private dealers, Boyd Level does not accept commissions but works on a flat fee, thereby avoiding any real or potential conflicts of interest.
 
Areas of Expertise / Recent Projects
One recent client, a newly retired businessman with little background in art, decided to start a collection of work by emerging artists. Beginning with informal meetings at Boyd Level’s Tribeca offices (over breakfast and a couple evenings of after-work cocktails), we introduced him to a range of art works and the historical themes and issues that they address. Subsequently, we conducted private studio visits with artists and discussed market trends related to the works. After six months, the client acquired one video piece, a set of large format photographs, a series of paintings, and two sculptures for less than $18,000.
