Company Philosophy
Born in 1976 in New York City, he has dedicated himself to the art of observation.Focusing primarily on portraits, landscapes, and still life he is always trying to explore through paint what makes nature so intensely beautiful. A trip to Florence, Italy during college made him realize that he had to be an artist. David studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The Florence Academy of Art. He also has a BFA cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. Working outside of Philadelphia he has exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Connecticut, and other east coast venues but most often executes commissioned portraits from his studio.

He has won a variety of awards including semi-finalist in the National Portrait Gallery's Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition in both 2006 and 2009, the Donelson Figure Painting Prize, the Seymour Remnick Memorial Prize, and the Historic Yellow Springs Landscape Prize at PAFA.

In 2004 the Biggs Museum of American Art held a comprehensive exhibition of his work. More recently in November 2008 he had a solo exhibition at the John Pence Gallery in San Francisco. Currently he is working on two Governors and a member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
