Launched in 1959, Lyric remains on the cutting edge by identifying trends early. A pioneer of custom installation, as well as the creator of some of the nation's first remote-controlled audio installations, founder Michael Kay, earns respect and approval from references and peers alike. His two top employees, Leonard Bellezza and Dan Mondoro, by then with Lyric for 27 years and 20 years respectively, took over the operation in 2004, but Kay remains in the store on a daily basis and is still very much involved.
The firm's staff of nearly two dozen includes project managers who act as liaisons with customers, with their designers and their architects. Because it has bases in Manhattan and White Plains, Lyric can effectively cover a greater service region and can often provide same-day service for clients experiencing problems.
The company, which offers a one-year warranty on parts and labor, handles a wide range of projects, from entry-level component music and A/V systems to cinema and home automation systems in the six-figure bracket. Lyric’s work can be seen and heard in homes around the United States, and in Europe, Asia, and South America as well.
