Coffinier Ku Design loves the process of creating something new or something from nothing. Recently, they have rescued a townhouse in the Village and transformed it from a multi-residence building to a single family home that is both zen in its simplicity and highly tailored and glamorous in its design and execution. For another recent project, they have designed a house in the estate section of Southampton working within the constraint of the existing historic 1930's home. The project included reducing the house to its bones, lifting the structure to dig a full basement, constructing two new wings, creation of new landscaping and swimming pool, and the furnishing of this "new" home. Another favorite project was the creation of a spacious and luxurious loft in Soho in a space that was formerly an art gallery with design starting with the floor plan and ending with the throw pillows.
In addition to residential work, Coffinier Ku Design enjoys designing restaurants and has worked on acclaimed restaurants in New York including the redesign of Picholine for Chef Terrance Brennan, Frederick's Madison, and Piano Due. They have received a Hospitality Design Award for their design of Frog Restaurant in Soho.
