Douglas Wright founded the firm and personally directs the design and administration of the firm's projects.
He has designed and overseen the administration of a broad range of projects including residential estates and their master plans, small, informal vacation homes along the beach, country clubs, planned developments, and boutique hotels and resorts.

Prior to forming Douglas C. Wright Architects, Mr. Wright was a partner in Miller & Wright Architects directing many of the firms projects. Before then, he was a principal at Hart Howerton Architects and Planners in New York leading teams on major residential, country club, and boutique hotel projects. Early in his career, he developed his expertise as an associate with Robert A. M. Stern Architects, and working with Ferguson & Shamamian Architects, B Five Studio, and Davis, Brody, Bond. Mr. Wright started his career as an architect/designer with the renowned decorating firm Parish-Hadley Associates, and continued with Brian McCarthy before pursuing further studies in architecture.
