Company Philosophy
Workshop/apd is a design firm specializing in both luxury home design and high-end commercial development. We actively leverage our experience to solve design challenges with innovative solutions that incorporate sustainable methods and ingenuity within a signature aesthetic. Our environment fosters creativity and embraces technological advances in products, fabrication, and materials. We advocate big ideas and we’re committed to design that is ethical, poetic, and of its time.

With residential construction the very core of our business, we understand how important it is to design comfortable and sophisticated environments. We take pride in looking at every project with an impartial and fresh set of eyes. Such openness leads to innovative design solutions and unexpected sources of inspiration.

Sustainable design is, in short, simply good design. We won the 2006 Sustainable Design Competition for New Orleans, sponsored by Brad Pitt and Global Green USA, and continue to pursue responsible design in all of our work. In 2012, we won the ‘Best New Design Award’ in Brooklyn from the Chamber of Commerce for our innovative LEED Platinum design of The Brooklyn Navy Yard’s BLDG92, a ‘Top 15 Architect’s To Watch’ accolade from Residential Architect, and the ‘Top 50 Architectural Designers’ citation from New York Spaces.
