FR Review:
We hear Peter Vracko knows "how to build a house with his bare hands." With his skilled crew of fourteen, Vracko performs spectacular gut renovations and restorations of some of the oldest properties in Los Angeles. He also stands out for his ground-up residential and commercial work, including his 25 year legacy as the designer, architect, and contractor of the world-famous hot spot The Abbey (and now its spin-off, The Chapel). Projects that promise challenges and intriguing possibilities are greater considerations than size or budget for this firm. Principal Peter Vracko is known to have his finger on the pulse of LA design, and as word spreads, this firm finds itself doing more design/build than ever before. Aesthetically, Vracko is a purist who will not fight the character of the existing structure. We hear some of his signature work is in Japanese/Asian, Spanish, and Mediterranean styles. The firm works mainly along the Sunset Strip.
Vracko grew up on a Washington State ranch and ended up building high-end homes. At the age of twenty he started his own company, and upon landing in LA quickly bumped into interior designer Craig Wright, for whom he has been building houses ever since—including Wright's own home. Limiting projects to two or three at a time, Vracko himself interacts on every level to keep the machine well oiled. Clients credit this "problem solver" as much for giving options as for his organization. "Fantastic" site managers keep expedited schedules on target. We hear that most of Vracko's crew has been with him for ten years or more, performing high-end plaster, masonry, cement, and concrete work, and bringing a special expertise to hillside/structural issues. The firm also claims a landscape designer within its ranks, making it truly full service.
We're told Vracko "lives and sleeps his projects," a fact that has clients sleeping easier, even if it's in a construction site. The firm is reputed to be especially conscientious of these live-in clients. Job sites are clean and projects completed on a timely basis.
Representative Client Comments:
"Peter didn't just want quality construction, he also wanted the aesthetic to be right." "The city inspector said it was the best job he'd ever seen." "Peter had the foresight to know what I wanted and the design ideas to implement it." "Time frame was right. Run-over was minimal." "Peter kept his appointments, was always available and if he didn't have the answer, he would come back with a fistful of catalogues to get one." "At the end of the day I didn't come home to a disaster."
