FR Review:
Master Bike Shop is a favorite among bike enthusiasts of all levels, whether you just bought a used commuter bike off of Craigslist, or you own a carbon frame Bianchi for weekend racing. Owner and master repairman Imbert Jimenez is at your service and fixes everything, from your basic flat tire to a complete gear overhaul. He and his crew are hailed as "knowledgeable," "fast" and "completely dependable." Master recently relocated to a larger location on the Upper West Side, where they also sell a full selection of Fuji and Dahon bikes, and have a tip-top bike rental operation. In fact, we hear that Master is THE place to rent bikes for an afternoon ride through Central Park or along Riverside.

Prices are reportedly moderate. A basic flat tire switch is $10, wheel realignment is around $15 and a standard tune-up is just $60, which includes brake, gear and headset adjustment, along with cleaning, degreasing and inspection of all parts. And those who need an activity for weekend visitors, or live far from Central Park, will be hard-pressed to find a better bike rental deal: $20 buys four hours on a cushy and properly-sized bike, and just blocks from the park. Master is a popular place, however, so be advised that weekends will likely be busy for both repairs and rentals.

Representative Client Comments:
"Imbert is a great guy and an amazing repairman." "They know how to handle folding bikes too." "Their bike rental business is hopping on weekends--it's advisable to get there by noon." "These guys are beyond helpful."
