Should you desire, Ira Levy can tap into his theatrical lighting experience to bring some pizazz into your home, but those with more subdued tastes applaud him as well. His ten-person company is noted more for its versatility than a particular style, and to that end it takes on residential jobs, commercial projects, product launches, fashion shows and everything in between. Clients report favorably on Levy’s process, which includes a walkthrough followed by a proposal, both free. Once hired, Levy provides detailed plans, including specifications for the necessary fixtures, which you can purchase through him. He does not, however, install the lights himself (though the company does have a division for on-site adjustment). With design fees from $3,500 on up, Levy’s expertise is not for those on a tight budget, but clients appreciate the variety of effects he can produce, from clean white illumination to whirling stars, projected on a child’s bedroom wall.
