FR Review:
Barbara Feinman designs men's and women's hats possessing debonair flair and a twist of "carnivalesque." The finest felts, straws and vintage embellishments are used, and the design possibilities run from fanciful fascinators for a wedding to fedoras "channeling Humphrey Bogart." Though popular among hat aficionados, the shop is especially recommended to newbies in need of style guidance, and the customer service is hailed as "second to none." With a tagline of "Couture Hats at Ready-To-Wear Prices," these hats are also recommended as "a good value," most falling between $250 and $400.

Feinman has been running her eponymous shop since 1998 and is known for "telling it like it is." While she probably won't tell you outright that your head is shaped like an egg, she'd certainly "never let you walk out with an ill-fitting hat." In spite of the store's popularity among whimsy-seekers, Feinman and her team can create a conservative look just as adeptly, and more than one uptown lady has "made the trip downtown to Barbara" for a luncheon or derby hat.

Representative Client Comments:
"Barbara and her team bend over backwards for you." "From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was working with a friend." "I tend to go a little overboard at times and Barbara helped me stay focused when designing my hat, which was great." "She made the perfect hat to go with the Vera Wang dress I wore to my son's wedding." "Very accommodating."

Bottom Line:
Severely disappointed. I have zero respect for these people and it's too bad. They lost a potentially good customer.

Project Description & Comments:
Unfortunately there isn't a zero star option. I ordered two hats for the Kentucky Derby which finally arrived looking VERY different from what was presented online. Understanding that color may vary and these are made to order the hats may differ slightly, but these were exceptionally different. They were very helpful to try and correct them for me, and after reviewing in great detail in person I was once again let down. I can't be more disappointed with the product and the service. They were not only condescending, but clearly cannot execute the product promised. I am now 4 days away from leaving for the derby, over $700 less in my pocket, and have NO hats. I order hats every year from other designers and never had an issue. I am not one to write bad reviews but I am so upset I want to make sure others are aware so they aren't put out like I have been.
If I could add photos here I would-just to show I'm not exaggerating.
