FR Review:
Chuck Fischer, a veteran decorative painter, creates charming scenes that radiate wit and good taste. Not tied down to a particular period or genre, he is equally comfortable executing chinoiserie or an American Primitive style. More than many of his peers, Fischer has an all-encompassing sense of the craft. Not one to simply execute a motif and leave, he takes into account the room’s design, the scope of the whole house, even the architectural and decorative traditions of the surrounding neighborhood. As all work is executed by hand, Fischer’s clients always end up with something truly special and unique.
Fischer began his artistic career with a stroke of luck: he was contracted through a friend to do a small job for the legendary Parish Hadley fi rm. One small job led to another, and then to a long career, often working directly with Albert Hadley, Bunny Williams and others of equal caliber. Simply put, he has worked with some the best designers in the field, in some of the fi nest homes in America. Fischer also has a range of artistic experience outside of decorative painting to draw upon: He has designed fabric for Brunschwig & Fils, wallpaper for Schumacher, china patterns for Lenox and has authored several pop-up books for children. Unsurprisingly, Fischer’s rate is on the higher end of the scale. However, he is competitive on price with others of his caliber. And references say for the knowledge, skill and sunny disposition, Fischer is a relative bargain.
