FR Review:
The ever-evolving Bella Mancini has been creating clean, chic interiors for satisfied clients since 2000. Inspired by her California upbringing, Mancini is drawn to natural materials such as wool and linen. In her words, “things that are relaxed.” Known for her family friendly designs, Mancini’s sleek interiors always have pops of bright colors such as neon yellow or blue to add a bit of whimsical accent. We also hear that she is adept at creating children’s rooms that are appealing to both parents and kids without being cheesy.

After graduating from San Francisco State with a degree in color theory and textiles, Mancini “fell into interior design.” Equipped with a few courses from the New York School of Interior Design, Mancini went on to work for Ellen Hamilton before going into business for herself. In addition to herself, Mancini has two other designers and an assistant. She dictates the creative direction of the firm while her other designers project manage.

Mancini takes on five to ten projects at once. She does not do small projects and has a minimum budget for new clients. About seventy percent of her work is residential apartments and the rest are single-family homes. Mancini focuses on the New York tri-state area, but has also done work in Los Angeles, Washington DC and Vermont. The majority of her clients are young families and empty nesters moving into the city. Mancini charges a combination of average design fee and markup over net on fixtures and furnishings as well as construction fees.

Representative Client Comments:
"Young, fresh style." "She has good contacts and is easy to talk to." "Her style worked well for my Hamptons house." “Bella did the interior design for the complete gut renovation of my townhouse.” “I have recommended her to a number of friends without hesitation, and they've had great results.” “I really liked the way we worked together. Bella didn't force her personal stamp onto the project, like some other Interior Designers do.” “Bella really helped cultivate and realize my vision rather than changing it.” “She was incredible in helping me and my husband. We have completely different and distinguished tastes, and Bella helped us to find a middle ground.” “She always came up with wonderful options that worked; she took a very holistic approach to our project.” “I never felt pressured or like she was forcing my hand for any of the decisions we needed to make; my vision always comes first.” “She made it an incredibly pleasant and dynamic experience.” “My home is contemporary with some of the original details maintained. Bella chose things that nodded to the original details, sort of highlighting the history of the space while making it more contemporary.” “We met with her one to two times a week. She was always there for on-site walk-through’s and meetings.” “Bella is a great communicator. She integrated well with the contractor and architect and was diplomatic working with everyone.” “I talked with several other designers before choosing Bella, but once I met her the choice was made. We had such a great connection, I immediately got the sense that her objective was to always put the client first in the design whereas with others I got the sense that they wanted to impress their own ideas above ours.” “I thought she was great on budget. She went for quality and hiring her was money well-spent.”
