FR Review:
Vincent Battiloro started his career as a woodworker at the age of fourteen in Naples, Italy. As an apprentice to a millwork master, Battiloro learned the art of creating windows, doors and furniture, making and finishing all by hand. In the 60s, when his family immigrated to the United States, Battiloro continued in the trade and worked at Regan Fine Office Furniture on Madison Avenue before opening his own firm in the 70s. Battiloro and his four-man team (all trained by the master himself) now dedicate themselves to restoring furniture and wood architecture in brownstones and pre-war apartments. This includes staircases, doors, windows, panels and moldings.

We hear that Battiloro maintains his small team with precision. He manages every job and does the detail work himself. All of his projects are in the New York area, and trusted clients include Trump Luxury Real Estate (he does their suites once a week), the Yale Club, and the Racquet and Tennis Club where he does a yearly restoration in August. Battiloro also does maintenance work for various real estate companies, such as Brown Harris Stevens. Known as “a truly Old-World artisan,” Battiloro is said to charge “fair, but not cheap prices” He charges by the linear foot and by the baluster (for staircases), though sometimes (depending on the damage) he will price the whole project at the beginning. All furniture is restored on location, and Battiloro does all his own finishing.

Representative Client Comments:
“I trust them implicitly, and would never go to anyone else.” “His integrity, skill and care with our furnishings and woodworking are unparalleled.” “Vincent is a true professional. His dedication, commitment to quality and timeline, knowledge of the wood grain and texture, and passion for his work was contagious.” “Part artist, part craftsman, Vincent meticulously stripped, stained and finished all the front doors in our complex and the result is truly remarkable—our doors are now works of art!” “After the well-predicted three weeks of hard and dedicated work on every painted wooden surface of our project they had turned our staircase back into the crafted piece of beauty it was when first erected more than 100 years ago.” “Mr. Battiloro truly is a master craftsman and extremely pleasant to work with. Together with his well-trained assistants he forms a team fully dedicated to uncover every inch of beauty that any aged or painted millwork can offer.” “They went the extra mile to finish the job to perfection, all within the originally negotiated (and very competitive) price and within the project time frame.”
