FR Review:
A trade secret since 2008, Jaydan Interiors is recognized for creating well-priced Old World upholstery for New York design professionals. Owner Marc Offner learned the trade while working for his family's business, Ernest Studios, for twelve years. Now, with a small showroom containing approximately ten chairs and sample drapes, and two decades of experience in the upholstery business among its employees, clients praise Jaydan Interiors for maintaining a full service business and long-term relationships in the design world.
Jaydan offers several different filling options, though the most common are foam core with down wrap or 80% down and 20% feather. The firm will do hair filling or waterproof filling, and can do a green filling as the company belongs to the Sustainable Furnishing Council. Though the business maintains a few accounts with fabric houses, most clients request COM. In the showroom, Jaydan also does shades and wood blinds, roller and pleated shades and provides drapery hardware. Trim is all hand-sewn and 75-80% of the drapery has trim. We hear that pricing is middle-of-the-road to affordable for the high-quality work produced at Jaydan. Timing is average: furniture usually takes six to eight weeks while drapery takes three to four. In addition to upholstery and window treatments, the firm also does slipcovers, lots of headboards, beds, custom bedding, pillows and wall and ceiling upholstery. Recently, the team has been working with more modern designs and hopes to see the company's reputation for style evolve to include this.
