When luxury brands want to ensure customer satisfaction, they put their faith in Tramo@Home to deliver their goods. Since ninety percent of its clientele are members of the interiors industry (both designers and design centers), Tramo has the right touch to handle elegant décor and its demanding owners. Avoiding third parties in the move, Tramo takes full responsibility for the transfer, whether from showroom to home or just home to home, a rarity that insiders say solidifies the trust.

Though Tramo has been one of the top trade specialists for handling fragile and expensive pieces in Europe since 1984 (the name is Italian for “furniture transportation”), it was Aref Khosravi who increased its popularity in the states. After a stint at the University of Washington’s business school and working for several shipping companies, Khosravi started his own venture with only a van, a warehouse and some crates. The company, called K&K, grew to 30 times its starting size, taking on Tramo Italy as a client. Khosravi made the offer to represent Tramo in the US, closed K&K, and has been managing the company from LA for five years. The New York branch is now in its second year.

Considering that Tramo’s clientele will gladly spend up to $500,000 on one move, hourly rates are slightly higher than average, but still competitive. Quotes are handled over the phone, as each case is unique, but there is an online feature that allows customers to view any items they are keeping in Tramo’s closely monitored warehouses. Loyal clients feel comfortable knowing that, on top of little to no turnover, the clean, white-gloved crews like to plan future moves while on site, giving them scheduling preference. And art collectors love that the installers who handle their pieces are all rising artists themselves. Khosravi runs a tight ship with weekly and monthly internal meetings, and clients say there’s “never a mistake when he’s in the area.”
