FR Review:
The local go-to place for consignment, Amy Maloney gets it done. If the goods are attractive and interesting, most are sold within the 90-day contract period. Just ask Michael Douglas who sent over 75 pieces to the shop in January 2023, 70 of which were sold within three months. The mix is certainly eclectic and more country club comfortable than mid-century chic, but that totally suits its clientele. There is a treasure hunt of vintage French and some Restoration Hardware nestled amongst stacked frames. Maloney does a ship-shop job of keeping it organized and knowing the provenance of each item. They do helpful marketing in the area media and via Insta to keep the process rolling.

Moreover, this is your answer for highly professional staging. Maloney worked in institutional sales at Merrill Lynch for 10 years, so she knows process management. Soon after starting the consignment business in April 2019 with her mom, Judith Smith, Maloney began the related staging aspect. Most of her staging clients come from brokers, wishing to upgrade the sales value. During the height of the pandemic, there were urgent calls for staging help twice a week, which has now calmed down to more normal level of about one a month.

For consignments, it is easiest to take phone shots of the potential sale items and text to shop for advice on process and pricing. Maloney and Smith, who was a Beverly Hills interior designer who worked on such fabled commissions as Circus Circus and the early Four Seasons, have an excellent sense of what will sell. The client receives 40% of the proceeds, if it sells within 90 days. After that, the owner has the choice of leaving in the shop for a lower percentage, picking it up, or the shop will arrange for donation. On the staging side, Maloney will arrange for a POD to come to your home for storage and effective organization to your new place. The reasonable staging fee is based upon square feet, with repeat clients saying it is absolutely worth the investment.

Representative Client Comments:
"It feels like you have walked into your friend's garage. Such lovely people." "Amy has an incredible knowledge of each piece." "Totally easy and reasonable way to deal with your excess baggage." "If your items are in good shape and are fairly current, they will sell. Otherwise, not surprisingly it it hit or miss." "The best place in town."
