Kari Katzander’s 2004 Golden Trowel award only reinforces the client kudos she’s been receiving for years. Offering brilliance on a budget, Mingo Design’s Kari and Andrew Katzander (and their small team) design, install and maintain a variety of gardens and grounds throughout the New York area. The “trustworthy” Katzander couple strives to “bring the outside in and the inside out” in their designs. Sources mention their commitment to designing with four seasons of interest and the terrific use of color.
Kari grew up working for her father’s contracting company, restoring farms and farmhouses. After a confident fifteen-year run owning her own landscape maintenance and design company on Fishers Island, she brought her considerable practical construction and installation knowledge to the position of creative director at Mingo Design. Andrew’s design and contracting resume includes stints at The New York Botanical Garden and the Pratt Institute. Costs are upper-end.
