Clients say they’ve had jolly good experiences with Englander Millwork. Founded in the 1920s and now headed by David Rodriquez, Englander specializes in custom doors, windows and moldings. Sources say the fi rm also excels in replication and installation. Offering mortise and tenon construction, soundproofing, glass and paneled wood doors, solid oak and the restoration of antique doors and old glass, Englander has a reputation for effectively executing curve work and other tricky millwork. While the firm's typical clientele are contractors as well as commercial and institutional clients—such as Columbia University—some private clients name Englander as the only one capable of doing their work.
