K&G Electric is a large electrical firm with the manpower and expertise to cover the full spectrum of the market—when we spoke to them, they had just completed a project for the British royal family’s residence in New York. Later, they were off to Brooklyn to change a few lightbulbs. In business for over seventy years, the firm is run by four “hands-on” brothers who spend the bulk of their time in the field, not in the office. Whether it’s installing a fixture, doing maintenance work for some of the most prestigious buildings in Manhattan, or conducting an electrical overhaul on a major renovation, this company comes highly recommended. Its rates—charged by the hour for small jobs, fixed prices for large jobs—are higher, but consistent with the quality they provide. While we hear the crews (especially on smaller jobs) are all business, most clients say they are more than willing to forgo the pleasantries in exchange for rock-solid, high-end service.
