FR Review:
President Peter Folsom entered the business 38 years ago as a dissatisfied customer during his own home renovation, determined to bring high quality and service to an underserved market. And indeed, Panorama is known for its outstanding customer service. Architects particularly choose Panorama for historical replication with modern aluminum and fiberglass technology in Manhattan's landmark buildings. Taking great pride in their custom work, the vast majority of their customers are residential and the windows look custom, not "institutional."
With 90 employees generally serving only Manhattan, Panorama is a specialty shop. While they do several whole buildings a year, individual clients are their mainstay. The product range is diversified and incorporates proprietary technology, emulating historic models with aluminum, fiberglass, wood and steel interiors. With this, you get the look and feel of the 1920s with modern functionality, including excellent sound and weather insulation. Additionally, they can do an overcasement window for “near complete soundproofing,” according to grateful customers. Panorama windows are fully warranted for a year, and there is also an efficient service department that works on their windows and others.
Clients compliment Panorama's crew for being neat, tidy and efficient. Folsom and his brother-in-law and partner, Doug Simpson, reportedly return calls promptly. The quality of Panorama's work is undisputed among architects, decorators, elite residential superintendents and homeowners.
Representative Client Comments:
"Peter was amazingly nice and generous with his time and knowledge." "Marvelous!" "Installing those screens was the best thing I've done to this apartment." “They can paint the insides of the windows a different color from the outside for a completely custom interior, while still maintaining consistency with your neighbors.” “They take such pride in their work.” "One of the most pleasant experiences in New York. Doug is a perfect gentleman and a nice and smart guy." "So neat you don't even know that they were there, except that you have a new window—like Santa's elves."
